CAMELIA DUO

Jean Gleizes

The CAMELIA DUO started in 2019 with the fusion between the soprano Manon Gleizes and the harpist Raphaëlle Villa spirits of making music together. Both multilingual, international and willing to explore some repertoire for voice and harp, they are specialised in the XXth Century English and American songs repertoire, such as some unique arrangements of songs by Richard Hageman made by themselves.

Also experts in opera, they broaden their repertoire with some Bel Canto music.

Manon’s knowledge of the stage, artistic strength and Raphaëlle's pedagogical intuition and know-how of musical transposition makes the CAMELIA DUO  made of a complementary and dynamic team, able to present some Art music as much as some Popular music by creating a unique atmosphere between them and the audience made of fine listeners and music new-comers.

Jérémy Langouët

Harpist Raphaëlle Villa was born in Paris and raised between Italy and France. She first studied engineering, but after graduating in Materials Science and Technology she eventually changed her life plan in order to follow a musical career !

She received her Bachelor of Music and teaching certification in France, then moved to Belgium and graduated in harp advanced master’s degree. In 2018 she met many opera singers and improved her vocal accompaniment skills while living in Parma (Italy) for six months.

Raphaëlle currently lives in Bretagne and plays in many ensembles such as Camelia Duo, Mayenne Orchestra, Le Conte Enchanteur (Nantes). She also teaches the harp in Normandie : Mont Saint-Michel.
